    Thank you for this information.

I am trying to trace details of my late father-in-law, Alexander Jack who served with RAOC 38 Vehicle Company, 18 Vehicle Park.
My gorgeous Italian mother-in-law, now 93 has given me some information but his documents details etc have been misplaced over the years.
I'd love to hear from anyone who can give me some pointers as where to start to unravel his story. Please if you can help?

A bit of thread necromancy now - did anyone go to Kew and take a look at the these War Diaries? Are there any on-line copies available?
I'm looking for info on my Grandfather - Malcolm Chinn (210284) who served with 38 Vehicle Co in Italy at the end of the war - I'm specifically looking for locations they were in to help give some focus to a trip I'm planning with my father.

I've booked a visit to Kew on Tuesday to have a look at these diaries, I've never been before or done anything like this but I'm sure I'll figure it out - I've asked for all the diaries and few other speculative docs I've identified that may not be anything to do with 38 Vehicle Coy - but we'll see :)
My intention is to photograph as much as I can and review in detail when back at base - I'm far too easily distracted to read it all there!

    Good luck!

Not sure if it’s the same now, but on your first, you had to watch some information video and then do a quiz before being issued with a card. I think you needed to produce some ID, too

Thanks for the tips, When I applied for my Readers Pass, I had to watch a video and tell them what forms of ID I was bringing. So that's all in place. No quiz though, yet :)
My dad's doing the same so we can both go, his memory is pretty good although he was born only a few month before his father went to war in '39 so a lot of what he remembers is hazy.
