Don't know if of use but I noticed a plaque in Cheltenham which states that home guard R L Herbert is buried with his wife , victims of 11-12-40 bombing on the town . He is commemorated on brookwood . However home guard S W Daniels is also on Brookwood , same location, same date
This is Herbert and Daniels on the Brookwood memorial. Assumed that the bodies we not recovered hence on Brookwood From what I can see it mentions his wife buried in the churchyard cant see Daniels Perhaps you could check the burial records. The resolution of the plaque is not good to read the names
Hello again ! Franks RSD and Mullock RG of 9th field coy RE are on brookwood . I believe they died en route to Sicily as did Von Rosen commemorated on Medjez el Bab of the same unit on the same date
Yes checked this one some years ago. Cheltenham have no record of his burial. However thanks for pointing this out.

The following died mainly as part of the army fire service or in the incident : Aldridge J A Elson ME Farrow AM Gilbet TF Hartwell GHG Hutchinson AE Knowles B Laurie G Meopham JF Mount CN Orman BF Warsdell HJ Ten of these are buried at El Ali Cemetery as unknown Hope it assists
