    Hi All,
I'm new to this forum. I am writing to ask if anyone is a relative to any of the crew that died? This is because my great-grandfather was in the Horsa (Glider Chalk 126) which the plane took over during the Normandy landings.
    Thanks in advance!

Fred, I have the complete logbook of Halifax LL403 of 644 SD Squadron. This aircraft with F/O. Bob Baird crashed 4/5 October 1944 near Putten,Holland after an supply-drop for the Dutch Resistance. In the logbook are also the Operations on D-Day ,Market Garden and special Ops. Let me know if you are interested and I can scan this complete logbook for you.

    Jaap,

Bob Baird, the pilot of Halifax LL403, was my grandmother's brother. I would be very interested in any information you have on this aircraft.

    Kind regards

    Michael

    Dear Michael,

Thats sound great. Bob Baird is also mentioned in my book. I have the logbook of Walter McGeachin and also photos from Bob when he was hiding by the Resistance. He was sitting in a chair when Germans came in the farm and asking for the boss. He said '' He is at the shet ''. Bob learnt some Dutch and the Germans dont see his RAF trousers he dressed on.
You can send me in private an email at : beervanvermeer@kpnmail.nl

    Best regards, Jaap
