    Hi,

    I found these vehicle numbers and named personnel details for 3 June 1944 in WO171/535:

    Appendix “A”

    ADMIN ORDER No. 1

    INFORMATION.
    HQ RASC less Rear Party will take part in an exercise and will be under 6 hours notice from 2100 hrs 31 May 44.

    INTENTION.
    To move to Marshalling Area.

    Movement order at appx ‘B’ will be issued later.

    Kevin,

    Thanks for that. Its interesting that they are 4x2, I had thought that all formation and unit level 3-ton lorries would have been 4x4.

    Hi Tom,

    I wouldn't know about the 4 x 2 / 4 x 4 distribution but the vast majority of the 3 ton Dodges are 4 x 2 with only the following listed as 4 x 4:-
    L5519882 - L5520381 4 x 4 Stores under SM6068
    L5875076 - L5877075 4 x 4 GS under SM6257
    L6253240 - L6253588 4 x 4 GS under SM2684
    L6253589 - L6253688 4 x 4 GS under SM2667
