Far from specifically WW2, but one of the best history books I've read. Very much worth a look for under a quid.

Hardly free, but the Works is stocking Philip Hamlyn Williams's 'War on Wheels' for a tenner.
Supposed to be good so thrown in the click & collect basket with a Blenheim Haynes manual:
War on Wheels by Philip Hamlyn Williams | Military Books at The Works

(10% off over a tenner with NOW20 code. Might change but almost always a code with them.)

Many thanks for the mention of "War on Wheels" V. P. I got hold of a copy myself - an excellent account of the operation of Base Ordnance Depots (a minor niggle is the wrong description on a few illustrations)

30% off and free postage today only (26/11/18) on Routledge academic titles.

Here's a link to the Military and Naval History section:

Most of the hardbacks are limited runs aimed at libraries (hence: overpriced), but this discount might make the paperback editions affordable.

    Currently only £1.19 on Amazon:

The classic book on the actions of the MGB/MTB's - Battle of the Narrow Seas by Peter Scott

The Battle of the Narrow Seas

Possibly one of the best Royal Navy memoirs I have read, a Home on the Rolling Main by Tony Ditcham tells his story of being a young Naval officer who saw plenty of action in WW-2 from being on HMS Renown off the coast of Norway to his time on Destroyers, including being on one of the destroyers tasked with attacking Scharnhorst in December 1943:

A Home on the Rolling Main

and, Rising Sun by John Toland which covers the Japanese viewpoint of the war from the Invasion of Manchuria to the Atomic bombs (book form has 970 pages):
