Hello, I am trying to find out what company my grandad was in and looking for clues all the time. Does anybody know what the words ‘seale d, a mean - see image - I’m perplexed He was in 8th battalion rifle brigade (trying to find what company he was in) then was ‘selected on strength’ sos for 1st battalion in 1945... would be great to know what the seale d means and the numbers after if anyone knows! Thanks in advance
Hi, Reading through the entries, I wonder (without being sure) if it actually says Scale and not Seale? Just a thought. Steve
Hi Steve - now that it’s been pointed out I can see it clear, so yes, I think you’re right. Not sure what it means next to the letters on the right, but I’ll check my abbreviation doc / Thank you
I see I was a little slow in posting compared to speedy Owen. It sounds as though it could be a medical classification to me, but I can't be sure. Good luck going forward with your research.
