Thanks for the reply GH, makes me somewhat better, but frustrating for us both.

Applied for my great uncle's record in January, received a holding response too and still waiting for the documents.

Cheque has finally been cashed for the records I sent off for in early January, so fingers crossed I see these at some point soon. Received an apologetic email telling me that there had been a mix-up Glasgow end, as to whether this was a NOK application or otherwise!!

I applied for my grandads in November 2018. They arrived before Christmas.

I applied for my grand uncles end of march 2019. They still haven't cashed the cheque yet. I dident send it recorded so I am hoping its not got lost

I applied for some back in January and finally received them at the end of last month. When I phoned to enquire about them they told me that the three months was from the date that they sent you the letter apologising for the delay!!

I haven't even received a letter to say there is a delay or acknowledgement that they have my request from 3 mo ths ago

I would write to them to make sure they have received your application. I made an application in early April and received an email acknowledgement from them at the end of April and the cheque was cashed in mid May. I am still waiting for the papers but at least I know they are in the pipe line.

I emailed Glasgow last week in reference to my applications in January and in March (both cheques cashed), they told me both were in the queue and that the wait is up to 6 months.

I think our forum is to blame for the extended waiting period!!:D

Which email address did you use? I will send them a email tomorrow asking if they have mine or if I need to reapply and cancel my last cheque

Yes, the same one Ian has posted. They are pretty quick to respond normally.

Got my man today! 17th May I sent off for his record. Probably quicker because there were no NOK issues.

My grand uncle died in 1949 so no issue with nok as I included birth and death certificate. Problem with the family is names. He was born Morris Baskind and died as Maurice Baskin. All the brothers etc changed names over time due to language difference from Russian parents

    Don’t complain

With naval records the wait is 9-12 months due to them having to trawl the P&V records
