I will confess to becoming increasingly confused and conflicted by the contradictory reporting and various agendas being woven into Covid. Just like the OJ trial, truth and objectivity were beaten into submission some time ago.
And again, I never said or implied that there isn’t a problem. My observation is that the major media networks seems to enjoy whipping up hysteria and panic in the populace with their style of reporting. And reporting the news is a thing of the past with them. It’s all about the shaping of opinion. Same with weather occurrences such as hurricanes. The Weather Channel wants another Katrina-like event so bad it’s about to kill them. When there’s a tropical disturbance in this part of the world they go overboard with not only the coverage of the weather system, they go into depth about the impending doom and gloom that is possibly associated with it’s approach. You can cry wolf just so much. That’s the point I’m making. Some people here seem to think that if everyone doesn’t buy into the media’s current style of delivery and spin that it must be a hoax.
The only mortality number in this war against a foreign invader wanting to destroy us and our economy is..........mine. I've had a relative in the War of the Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, WWI and WWII. And my research so far suggests they all had the same goal, to survive. KIA is moving to 200k. WIA is uncounted. I'd bet 300k KIA by July 2021.
Glory holes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF Canada For safer sex during the pandemic, Canada suggests glory holes
Wouldn't employing a "two bagger" system into the equation work a little better? Rodney gives a tutorial on the matter.
Agreed. Much less risk of splinters too. I'm a little worried about Kevin. Covid is obviously influencing his choice of websites.
I wouldn't be worried about the website. More concerned what Candians are up to in their spare time. As far as splinters go, have you heard of sandpaper. It's a good thing to have handy (ask any Aussie)
Just took another look when the sandpapering was suggested. That sure is a thick board they used there....
Don't fall for that distorted view of Canadians. We like to have innocent fun too: Watch this big beaver swing from a willow tree | Cottage Life
Coronapocalypse in Holland 'There is no greater danger than underestimating your opponent.' Weekly update: Corona is making a comeback in Holland: nearly 1,000 new cases in a week. After weeks of a declining trend, the number of new corona cases is steadily rising again, according to the latest RIVM report, though the numbers are not (yet) as disturbing as they used to be. In the test streets the percentage of positive tests increases and the reproduction number (Rt Real Time) is above 1 (1,29 to be more specific). Especially young people are tested positive. In three to four weeks hospitalizations are expected to rise again. This COVID virus is a real bugger. If it was a normal flu, it would long have gone into a kind of summer-hibernation. Not! Meanwhile it is also clear that the disease for young people is by no means the flu that activists like to make of it: the Dutch Facebook group "Corona patients with long-term complaints" counts more than 14 thousand members now. These are often younger ex-patients, with debilitating complaints such as extreme fatigue, headache, shortness of breath and memory loss. Last week (14 - 21 July), 987 new individuals were reported to have tested positive for COVID-19. That is almost twice as much as the week before. 19 patients have been hospitalized for COVID-19. That is an increase of 3 patients compared to the previous week. 7 persons have been reported dead. Numbers now are: week 1 - 7 July: 19 new deaths, total now 6.132; number of confirmed cases 50.705 week 8 - 14 July: 8 deaths, total now 6.140; number of confirmed cases 51.239 week 14 - 21 July: 7 deaths, total now 6.147; number of confirmed cases 52.226 For comparison the (official) mortality rate caused by Covid per million of inhabitants: (based on the deaths registered by the John Hopkins University) Belgium (11,4 mln) with 9.812 deaths, it is 860,70 UK (66,5 mln) this number, with 45.762 deaths, is 688,15 Spain (46,7 mln), with 28.432 deaths, is 608,82 Italy (60,4 mln) with 35.097 deaths, the number is 581,08 Sweden (10,2 mln) with 5.697 deaths is 558,53 France (67,0 mln) with 30.195 deaths, is 450,67 USA (327,2 mln) with 145.546 deaths, it is 444,82 Holland (17,2 mln) with 6.147 deaths, it now is 357,38 Canada (37,1 mln) with 8.923 deaths is 240,51 Germany (82,9 mln) with 9.120 deaths is 110,01 Population numbers (courtesy SteveDee) Coronavirus deaths per million by country 2020 | Statista. Some countries - like Belgium - include suspected Covid deaths that were not tested. The official corona mortality of various countries is therefore less comparable. Belgium still is the relatively hardest hit country in Europe and maybe world-wide (a sky-high death rate of 860+ per million inhabitants - but Belgium has been very strict with itself. It counts not only deaths after a positive test, but also of those who showed symptoms that indicate the virus. The UK and Spain make a good second and third. The rates in Sweden, the only country in Europe that gambled for group immunity and decided not to lock down, are now almost up to the Italian rates. The deaths in the USA are now fast on the rise (approx. 1.000 a day). Though the rate for the time being is dampened by the large population of the country, I now foresee a Swedish/Italian scenario (with 180.000 - 190.000 deaths). Germany, where the virus spread at the same time as in Holland, is doing extremely well. The country has a more disciplined population and does a lot of testing, contact tracing and isolating.
