F/Sgt. K.E. Button 257 Squadron crashes into 'shell dump'

    F/Sgt. Kenneth Edwin Button (1139408) 257 (Burma) Squadron RAFVR

    On the 9th July 1944 whilst piloting Hawker typhoon JR330 FM-K Button crashed into shell dump when he overshot at B15 airfield St. Croix, with Button was killed in action on 20th January 1945 with two other members of his squadron believed to be due to their instruments being iced.

    Born 1922, he was a Student telephone Engineer before the war .

    Hello Keith, chances are slim that you will read this, but I live near the spot where Kenneth Button lost his life and I have a few details that might interest you.
