Only the pheasant having run out of the path of the car would immediately reverse direction and run back in front again

Perhaps it realises the futility of its existence in a world lacking compassion

So, not stupid, just depressed. A suicide perhaps?

Reminded of a Michael Bentine (the 4th Goon) mouse trap in which the mouse is forced to swim through a whisky bath, shown a magnified image of itself and then released to pick a fight with the first cat it finds.

Just a few of the foxes we've been feeding since they were very small cubs. Turns out there are eight altogether. Just five last night, but only four in this pic, finishing off a few left overs augmented with dog biscuits - no wonder they look so healthy! Markings are now very defined, and we can name most of them from these and their behaviour. We've also got a woodmouse, bats, and a hedgehog. The former two are a bit more challenging in getting pictures! PE1A9249.jpg

Yes, we had wildlife in our backyard last night.

It was dark and I was too preoccupied to get proper photos, but you get the idea!

I was at work on Friday evening when I came across this fox in the car park. Although it’s in a commercial district with lots of offices, on the other side of the road is a NASA research facility with an airfield, so I assume it came from over there.

If women's perfume had the staying power of skunk spray they would only need to apply it every 3 weeks!

Canuck - My condolences! I still have recollections of one that came by at night when I stayed at your home ... like an overripe smelly garbage truck that passes right under your bedroom window ... and that one was outside and did not spray

No Kevin - it definitely wasn't him at the bedroom window ... because he was already inside ... ;)

Been having some fun with a trail camera recently, capturing some interesting night time visitors, including a family of wood mice. They rarely stay stationary for long enough to capture a still image, and certainly not with a conventional camera, but here's one of a few that I've caught over the past few days on the trail camera.
