The discovery that a closed Coventry nightclub has been turned into a three story cannabis farm should offer Andy Burnham and Boris a solution to the Manchester lockdown. Turn over all the closed clubs, pubs, gyms etc. to cannabis production. This would provide a source of income for the employees and owners and the product could be used to keep the locked down population from fretting.. A brilliant solution n'est pas? Cannabis crop at former Coventry nightclub 'worth £1m'
So this is what Covid lockdown European style looks like. No wonder the virus is having a field day over there
It's not going well with the 'Social Distancing' in the Ronde van Vlaanderen...but then it was never going to.
The local park this morning. There were 14 matches played in total at 22 players + 3 officials per game plus substitutes, coaches and spectators. How many different households involved too, who can say? And this is fine apparently. But if I stand outside, socially distanced, with six members of my family from just two households, I will be shot by the Council sniper.
wooley12 and KevinC, do you post anywhere other than in this thread? I mean, this is a WWII forum, after all.
My area of study and interest in real life, is the U S Rangers, FSSF and 474th from Dieppe to Oslo. So while I've learned some things from reading other threads, I haven't seen any that I felt qualified to post in. Covid is of interest to me because with my "MOS" (70, health issues) the the mortality rate is higher than the Rangers on D Day.
Damn. I'm on the wrong forum again ........................ It explains why I post my birdwatching stuff on a cricket forum and my Formula 1 posts don't make sense on the cycling forum.
Forty-eight posts, six of them vaguely related to military history, and the last of those in July. It is quite strange to be 'active' on a military history forum while posting almost nothing about military history. The point Jeff makes, I think quite reasonably, is perhaps: While being ridiculously tolerant on here when compared to many other 'subject-specific' forums, and thinking a certain level of chatting shit is normal, we're not really Twitter or Reddit. Everyone can view their posting history: >Profile >>Postings >>>Find all content (bottom of the page). Maybe worth a gentle reminder that we're a Military History site. And looking at the nearly 2000 replies to this thread; I think a little less gently - I'll close it for a week or so, as I get a tad uncomfortable when off-topic stuff constantly sits on the front page. It's not as though the world is short of commentary on this business. ~A
