Covid stopped me from battlefield tour guiding in Italy so I used the time to write a trilogy of the period between the Salerno Landings in Sep 43 and the fall of Rome in Jun 44. The overarching title is 'A Walking Tour of Italy's WWII Battlefields'. Here they are:

Book 1. From the Salerno Landings to San Pietro. IBSN. 978-1-53618-572-0.

Book 2. Breaking the Gustav and Hitler Lines. IBSN. 978-1-53619-076-2.

Book 3. From the Anzio Landings to Rome. IBSN. 978-1-53619-077-9.

If Covid goes into 2022 and I can muster the energy, I will also cover the Sep 44 assault on the Gothic Line and the Apr 45 Final Offensive.

Now I am off for a lie down. Book publishing was much harder than I thought.

    Regards

    Frank

    Sheldrake.

You are most kind. Nova Publishers’ website but you may need a glass of scotch close at hand for when you see the price - which I have no control over.

More than the price of a cheeseburger but just less than the price of an Aston Martin.

I think I will wait until there are any remaindered copies or until an academic library closes down.....

Sorry but this looks like the wrong publisher to get books into the hand of readers and visitors. I suspect their business model is to commission works from experts and academics that will be must have acquisitions for academic libraries and priced to gouge the publications budget.

I would love to read your guide book if published as Battleground Europe books from Pen and Sword.

I think that you are right - but I was ignorant of such subtleties at the time.

    Wiser after the event.

You could always write another guide. I'd be happy to co-author or contribute to one aimed in the battleground series. I have the Anzio and Cassino books by Ian Blackwell. The beauty of military history publishing is that there seems to be an insatiable market for books with new angles. Or why not self publish your own pamphlets covering sections of battles?

I am new to the publishing game and confess to being a bit naive. I was focussed on, and my interest was in, the content of the book.

I did not give cost a single thought.

You've known me long enough. I was not having a dig! Apologies if you thought so?
