My first thought was "Hah: a Knuckey prototype!"...

but this monster is post war.....and also looks "slightly" different....
So I don't know either....but I can imagine something like "Brontosaurus" in the name.

‘She’ appears to be Right Hand Drive - which should help narrow the field - and has the faint whiff of a Scammell, but I’ve asked a Nellies of Beverley spotter friend for an opinion. Doesn’t look like it was originally designed for an open cast mine use. A real beauty, though. You could probably roll a cigarette in the time taken to double de-clutch.

We touched on the T13 a bit back. Shame that didn't go into production with the Dragon Wagon

    What's that?

Oh, we're definitely in the area.
Though I can think of several viewpoints on that brilliant shot, so it's hard to be more clear.

The chassis looks like a stretched M5 light tank with mid mounted engine. There was a series of gun motor carriage vehicles built on such a chassis with various weapons including a T65 version with 40mm Bofors. But I thought it carried a twin 40mm Bofors not the single shown. Maybe a development vehicle for the twin. See foot of Wiki page.

That is very interesting! I had a look though my copy of Can Openers by Nicholas Moran but to no avail. The layout resembles the 90mm GMC T53 but it clearly does not have the long 90mm gun and the front of the hull is different. And certainly unusual, it seems to me. But the suspension looks very much like one used on an M4.

If we can't guess and you don't know, I support Mr Moran via Patreon so I could ask him for an id.

PS I should note that his book generally covers tank destroyers and not AA vehicles.

I should have mentioned that it's a prototype. It's single gun version of the T65 GMC. Production of the M5 was coming to an end and the project evolved into a twin gun version based on the Chaffee.

And that’s a Vickers-Berthier it’s mounting. I think I might have that photo somewhere, from the Vickers Works Album
