As you can see we are trying to find out, maybe you know?

I guess thats what I am asking - I can see what we [the forum, not me personally] are trying to do, I was pondering what you are doing apart from uploading images and asking for someone to solve the location

I would also think it might be useful to the forum to know how many images you have or will be uploading so that there location can be hopefully found

Personally I wont be adding any possible or probable locations - I believe the forums mantra is 'reply to posts if you wish, if you dont want to reply then dont'

    Well I'm enjoying IDing them.
If raut is making money selling them onced IDed I'm not that worried although a donation to the running costs would be welcome.

I'm at work at the moment but that last photo looks like the railway bridge by the station in Cologne.
    I'll look deeper later.

Anything that keeps Owen's* frankly bloody spooky location-finding skills in tip top condition while making him 'happy' is fine by me.
Hands up everyone that's received help from those spooky skills over the years. (Many hands, here & elsewhere.)

I don't give a tinker's cuss why Raut is identifying these pics.
Some interesting images, entertaining for those that enjoy such.
Those that don't, have no obligation to engage.

*Obviously, there are other excellent location spotters & those that enjoy the challenge - even had a few hits myself - but let's be honest; he's a savant at this stuff.
He probably knows where you live...

The Hohenzollern Bridge (as you say Cologne) was one I noticed that seemed similar but I got distracted when I was trying to do some more checking - I'm like you, I'm kind of drawn to these challenges, although as I said earlier I think just posting them all up rather than drip feeding the next one only after you have done the last just seems to drag it out.

I just can't figure out what you all want from me?All the photos that I post here are from my personal collection and they are not for sale.I don't make money by identifying photos.
I just wanted to create an interesting topic for everyone and for the benefit of my research.
I hoped I was clear enough at the beginning of this topic.
If someone is offended by this topic and it is unacceptable, I can close it and leave as I came.

This is the first time I come across such a reaction.

Before this develops into anything can I just point out when English isnt your first language then misunderstandings occur and briefly reading this thread there are a number of them ?

Misunderstanding 1 ;-Raut first post :- I decided to create a topic and I hope that it will be interesting. I invite everyone to take part in the study, identifying the images of occupied Europe.

    Uncle Target
assumed this was an invite for all to post images and did so (irrespective of quality) however this led to

Misunderstanding 2 :- Lost in translation RAUT reply "Uncle Target,Those that are posted are uninformative, there is no way to consider.Make high quality scans " ..............comes across wrong, theres no other words for it .Just plain wrong.

Objective clarification :- The identification of images posted by topic/thread starter RAUT (who invites all with an interest to contribute)

Misunderstanding 3:- SDP genuine enquiry if this was a Quiz,we do have them such as `captions thread`?

Misunderstanding 4 :- RAUT believes SDP is questioning his motives. He isnt and tries to explain this.

Misunderstanding 5 :- Owen and AB64 use their considerable knowledge to identify the images posted , however the identity of these images are not debated simply taken as correct and we move on to the next image ? Which leads to the question does RAUT actually know that this is the correct location or assumes the answers given are 100% correct ? Which leads to TD raising this question?

Misunderstanding 6 :- Mods believe members are posting non relevent questions not in keeping with the original posters question re-identification? When they are seeking clarification ?

Misunderstanding 7 :- Lost in translation again RAUT believes the comments are personal . They are not.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Opinion :- RAUT keep posting your images its nothing personal and OWEN and AB64 and any others can help you if they can ? Anyone else with a similar request could begin their own topic
    Simple :)

    I'm stumped at the moment.
It's not Cologne , the bridge is wrong.
I think it might be a coastal town with docks .
    Feel free to help out.

The fact is that I myself do not know the solution to this photo. If I knew what kind of city it was, I would not ask you for help.
Never give up.I am sure we will solve this problem after all.
Enlarged photo fragments using optics.Maybe this will help in the search. DSC07840.JPG DSC07836.JPG DSC07841.JPG

I suggest that it is Stettin (Szczecin, now in Poland) and more specifically the Bahnhofsbrücke.

Me too, Rotterdam and Hamburg also crossed my mind. But Alberk's picture is quite convincing.
