Hello agin Bernard, An experience I'm certainly glad I never had - As a boy I wonder if it really scared you or was it just the norm then. Regards, Ian.
good day bonneville,11th aug.2014,12:10am.re: reply.thank you for all your reply's.as for being scared,we were just use to the situation.and when the all clear sounded my mates and myself went after shrapnell collecting and swaping, bits bomb.incendery bombs.the prize bits had the german eagle printed on them.it sounds foolish now.but thats how it was then.in london.we had 50 odd days of blitz, you could set your clock by the bombers arriving.and we still went to school.and when i went away to sea i finaly felt safe, strange but thats how it was.in closing.you get use to anything if it happens every day, have a good one regards bernard85
Boys will be boys! That was my guess actually Bernard - life goes on kind of situation. Again thanks for your insight. Best Regards, Ian.
