Redman telegram

Hyman sailed from Liverpool on the R.M.S. Maloja on 28th July 1942 via Greenock where she joined a convoy. The Maloja anchored at Free Town in Sierra Leone on the 10th August and stayed until the 15th when she left for Cape Town, arriving on the 27th August 1942. On disembarking in South Africa one of Hyman's first acts was to send this telegram to his father back home in Golders Green. The R.M.S. Maloja left Cape Town on the 30th August and arrived at Bombay Docks on the 19th September 1942.
