I understood that a number of the exhibits disappeared somehow before and after the museum closed. It will be interesting to see what appears on show when this new museum opens (if it does).
Another setback. ON THE 304th Anniversary week of the founding of the Royal Artillery, a body blow to the Regiment’s hopes of building a new museum on Salisbury Plain came when the Chief of the General Staff withdrew his support for the lease of Avon Camp West to the Regiment. It appears a good part of their collection is listed by the Ordnance Society's work. I say 'part' as I recognised some items which are on loan @ Warminster. See: NATIONAL ARTILLERY SURVEY
I think they were located on a military base last I heard. But I was last in touch with them in 2019 about my Archer research. The archives have a somewhat active FB page with an email listed, which is the same one I used in communicating with them. Royal Artillery Museum
