Interest Check for a ~25 Turn Battle using CMBB or CMAK (Most likely CMBB) based on user preference. The idea for this end-of-year tournament is to challenge similar minded players from WW2Forum to battle, with whichever Forum accumulates the most posts from the battles 'winning' the Inter-Forum War. Method of play would be PBEM though its possible to play by TCP/IP if you're both on at the same time. If you have the game and are interested, please post here.
I seem to remember doing that. I believe there are patches on the Battlefront website but I resent having to pay for something like that.
There are $5 Patches for Vista version, but I was pretty sure if you run W7 in comptability mode (right-click on the game, then preferences I believe) you can run it like you're using an older version of windows. I run XP as my OS though so wouldn't know if it works. Any idea if there are other Limeys on here who play?
Just a bump to this thread, but I am trying to set up a WW2 Forum vs WW2 Talk CMBB Tournament if anyone is interested. Doesn't look too promising right now though.
Hey since I a member of both forums I can play on both, maybe I can even play against myself and attempt to outwit, ah' me. :P
Check out the WW2F gaming section. I will set up a mini 3-way tournament. Hopefully we can complete it by christmas.
We are currently in round 3 of a tournament that was started by posters at the gamesquad forums - Combat Mission Many interested parties there; a mix of both CM:BB and CM:AK scenarios. Always lively discussions in that group as well for those interested.
I've been playing CMBB/AK for the past 10 years at various clubs but have got a bit fed up with it recently. The latest version is CMBN (Battle for Normandy) released in 2011 and was an immediate smash hit with the CM community because of its sensational graphics, here's a shot from one of my games-
