temptage I thought it would only take a few weeks......

Im wondering if the 'Stefanos' that was on his burial record might be his middle name, even though they have it as his surname, as the card that Tricky Dicky has added show Antoniou as his surname also.

Merchant Navy records show just first and last name only - Nicholas Antoniou.

Yacht HMY Orca, 98grt, (Admiralty) Formerly a private yacht, named the Cachalot belonging to a retired Lieutenant Colonel Claude Beddington was requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1940 and Beddington given command as her Master. Departing Brixham on the 21st August 1940 bound for Holyhead. Three days later the Orca was five miles off the Welsh coast when two enemy aircraft swooped down raking the yacht with machine-gun fire. Strafing the ship’s deck, Beddington, standing at the helm, was killed instantly. The remaining crew of five eventually arrived safely in port.

I've just noticed that the record for Nicolas Antonio is still showing as TOWER HILL MEMORIAL.
Most records are altered well within a year to show the new details along with the obligatory "The CWGC are in the process......" etc

It appears then that he was left at Cardiff as he had presumably some sort of medical problem - the attached image has the handwritten word 'Hospital' against his name and hes the only person noted from that ship
