According to the 23rd Hussars' Roll of Honour, he was in 'C' Squadron and was killed on August 6th:

GENUKI: Photograph of the The World War II memorial screen for the 23rd Hussars in Priory Church, Bridlington., Yorkshire

If it was the 7th then he was very unlucky. The Hussars had just returned from a nightmare 5 days on Perrier Ridge and were harboured at La Barbiere. The atmosphere was one of relief. Suddenly a single HE shell (origin unknown) exploded nearby. My Dad remembers the incident because he dived under his Sherman - from the side.

    RIP mate.

Spoke to Dad last night. Tpr Beazley was definitely 'C' Squadron. The 'Story of the 23rd Hussars' gives his place of death as Chenedolle (ie he was on Perrier Ridge). 'C' Squadron came off the ridge on the 7th with no casualties reported that day.

I believe that in this case the Roll of Honour is correct and that Tpr Beazley was killed on the 6th.

CORRECTION: Tpr Beazley is on the extreme left, under the gun, with the specs. Apologies for the error.
