I have of late proved two others were born in Australian however no luck with this one.

RAF 39403 (220sq) Flying Officer Charles Francis Lionel Tulloch.

I do have a current Ancestry account however I am unable to get past his War Death.

CWGC details show Father as Charles and Mother as Blanche F.N.

    Cheers

    Geoff

Strange, they give his parents address as Bournemouth Hampshire, but can find no trace of them. Only found a Blanche Florence Nellie Tulloch as born 1876 and dying 1975 in Hove Sussex.

You had some/most of this before Flying Officer CHARLES FRANCIS LIONEL TULLOCH,39403, 220 Sqdn., Royal Air Force
Hudson shot down by Me110 etc etc

His DoB appears to be 1916 ish and as he's shown on the passenger list TO Australia he may have been born in the UK (bearing in mind that ALL Australians showed they were of British origin at that time....) and came back in 1935 which is presumably when he thought of joining the RAF.

I can't find any Australian War records for either his father or him, but there were other Tullochs in Melbourne etc, so perhaps they went out to try their luck?

Think this is your man Geoff...... copy of record card from the GB Royal Aero Club Aviators Certificates index.....gives his specific date of birth as 3rd Jan 1916 and place of birth as Sydney, Australia.... but gives nationality as British?

I have just found a record on Ancestry, in the Passenger Lists for a Master C F Tulloch travelling from London, England with his parents a Mr C Tulloch and Mrs B Tulloch in 1920. https://www.ancestry.com.au/interac...79129?backurl=&ssrc=&backlabel=Return&bm=true. The list when you get a chance to look at it, indicates this Master C F Tulloch was born in about 1916, he is four years old.

I also searched Start searching NSW family history, for a birth record in 1916, none came up for a Charles Tulloch.

Should I find anything else I shall let you know.

    Mark

NOTE: I add the image of the record here: 40610_B000923-00355.jpg

    Hi Kevin,

I tried to bring this up as I had no info on my spreadsheet. I felt I had completed his Bio previously but could not find it for the life of me.

I keyed this in today and all come up (strange)??

However a few things have come to light and I can now prove he was born in Australian in 1916 returned to England for a short time when he was 4yo then returned to Australia. He returned to England with his "mother" after his father died in Australia 1935.

    Cheers

    Geoff

Is there some doubt as to Florence being his mother? The "Ellen" in harkness's post #7 could be the "proper" Christian name for "Nellie"....
I see she almost made it to 100, no wonder they call much of the South Coast "God's Waiting Room"!!!
