On 12 Dec 1944 three men serving with the Royal Artillery died and are now commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial as they have no known graves. 1456606 L/Bdr William Aiken - Royal Artillery 8th HAA Regt RA 1512260 Pte Daniel Arthur Rhead - Royal Artillery 8th HAA Regt RA 1073923 Pte John Mathew Parry - Army Catering Corps 21 Ant--Tank Regt RA I believe that the two 8th HAA lads were thought to have been lost at sea so that would explain the lack of a grave however I cant find any trace of Parry. Please can anybody advise ? Thank you RR
AIKEN - note number is 1456605. Missing at sea 12.12.44, presumed died, accidently drowned. RHEAD - ditto PARRY - not in casualty lists https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2145016/william-aiken/ https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2147750/daniel-arthur-rhead/ https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2147542/john-matthew-parry/
I was digging into some KOSB deaths and noticed a few weren't on casualty lists and also have a couple of bits where they were wounded but aren't included on the list - it doesn't seem common but did happen, also with searches I have seen a few transcription errors
