Canadian troops loading supplies on landing craft during a training exercise in England. I'm pretty sure this was a restricted area at the time, but there is a sports car near the entrance of the slipway. I would like to know who owned it and unfortunately I couldn't find a high resolution copy of the photo. In case anyone wants to know where that is, I asked my father-in-law who grew up in Southampton. Opposite the Royal Pier. Streetview https://maps.app.goo.gl/3b2eenFfKBusaSgw7
I love the Ford logo pressed into the bumper. Odd thought occurs that the current vogue for the 'SUV' shape is maybe a return to that style. Certainly looks 'roomy'.
Interesting picture. It's a Packard 2 door convertible with a 4 star plate on it. Could be Patton's but he wasn't promoted to 4 star until April of 45 and was killed in a Cadillac staff car. I wonder if it was Bradley's or Hap Arnolds. 2 door convertible is odd too. Maybe a commandeered civilian car?
