Can anyone shed any light on where 1st Bn, Regina Rifle Regiment would have been stationed in 1942 - somewhere in the UK perhaps as the person I am trying to trace was buried at Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England?

I only have the war diaries for Jan to May 1942. From January to April 1942, the Battalion was located at Borde Hill near Hayward's Heath. From 20-25/4/43 they were at Headquartered at Newfield Hotel, Newhaven. During May 1942 they were at Newell's and Selehurst.

I also have the Regina Rifle Regiment's Brigade war diary, 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade. It was had its HQ at Woodgate, Danehill, Sussex through 1 May 1942. After that date it moved frequently throughout Sussex as the brigade was involved in a number of exercises. I only have the diary through Oct 1942.

Are you able to name the person you're tracing?

It seems that there were six deaths in the Regiment in 1942 (based on Brookwood burials), at least two of which occurred in East Sussex. I only have very basic details for these latter two, though.

I've photographed most of the WW2 Canadian headstones in Brookwood, so probably have a photo if you haven't already got one.

I've researched personnel files for all of the 1942 deaths, so could probably provide details. PM me or contact me via my website if you prefer not to post publicly.
