Hi. Anyone able to help me locate a copy of "Instructions for practice - Field Artillery 1938"?

In my research trying to understand the artillery exercises and training in the No.3 South Downs Training Area, I came across a document in the local record office; "ADDENDUM NO.1 TO STANDING ORDERS FOR SOUTH DOWNS TRAINING AREA", 8th June 1942 . This stated that instructions for the disposal of unexploded shells are found in the above named document. An Internet search has so far failed to find any references to it, either in this forum, The National Archives, IWM, or elsewhere on the net. It is just possible it was an internal document which may have been issued direct to those involved in field artillery training. I am slowly working my way through War Diaries, local records, post-war aerial photos, and standing earthworks. But I'll save questions arising from these for other posts!

    Thanks in advance. David

    Sheldrake All over the place....

The one place that would have a copy is the Firepower archive, but unfortunately that has just closed and I don't know when or even if the archives will be reopened.

Real shame about closure of Firepower Archive. The Field Artillery training manual held at TNA looks like a very good candidate - not sure how I missed it. Thanks guys.
