Attempting to complete my loss file for this Aircraft and crew: 1/ Can anybody assist with the names and service number of RAF Sgt P. G. E. A. Brown? POW number and Camp above. 2/ The German aircraft type which shot them down. One site states a ME-109 (supposedly from the grandson of Sgt Brown) and another states a BF-110 Aircraft Type: Wellington IV Serial number: Z 1218 Radio call sign: FU – D Unit: 458 Sqn RAAF Summary: Wellington Z1218 took off from RAF Holme-on-Spalding Moor, Yorkshire, at 1839 hours on the night of 20/21st October 1941 to bomb the Antwerp docks, Belgium. Ten aircraft from the Squadron took off on the mission, and of these Z1218 failed to return. This was the first operational mission of the Squadron. Cheers

Thanks TD. The Army number is a "good get" as even that was eluding me. In Australia, I could look up the Nominal Roll for free and it would give all details for ALL of those who served. I did not even attempt to use FreeBMD with the surname of "Brown"!! You never know where/when some more information may come along. I/We could guess at say Peter-George-Edward-Albert!! Thanks again,
I have tried several combinations of initials and names, birth date ranges etc, but either nothing results or hundreds. Could really do with another detail, a name, a place of birth etc etc TD
