Hello all, this is my first post here. A friend of a friend is trying to find her Dad, first name is Herbert, or any information about him. He might have been killed, wounded or survived without a scratch. He last had contact with her mother in Gent 1944/5 and after a romance, she the daughter is the result, now aged 71. Does anyone on here have any ideas on this please? Regards, Bob. man on the left is Herbert (2).jpg Herbert Canadian Sergent last known of in Gent.jpg

    Hello Bob. Welcome to WW2talk.

That is a heck of a task. Is it possible to post a bigger picture of the two Canadians? So that we can see badges and insignias clearer. Then members will be able to determine which regiment he was with and be able to say where they were at a given time.

Has the lady in question, her birth certificate as it might name her father.

Her date of birth would also help.

Information on her mother would be valuable. ie her nationality, was she in the services, etc.

If not already done so, might be an idea to contact this site.

Thank you Rich. I have been unable to get in contact with Florence again. Looks as though it is solved for her now. With regards, Bob.
