I was led to believe that the Packard built Merlin engines returned very good performances with the Packard 68A as fitted on the postwar Lincoln B2 returning an exceptional performance as related by a No 97 Squadron pilot. Thanks.....good internal photographs of a well cared for hanger and posh floor.
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum really is a great venue. Very informal. The volunteer staff who are working on various restorations are very approachable and you can pretty much get close to all the exhibits. There are open cockpits on many of the WW2 trainer aircraft so you can get a feel for the controls and the pilot seat. A must see if you're in Southern Ontario. About an hour from downtown Toronto.
They have approx. 50 aircraft and at least 10 of them are air worthy and available for public flights. Lancaster Canso Firefly B-25 Tiger Moth Chipmunk Dakota Norseman Beechcraft Harvard
There's a model show there every year as well... yikes, it's THIS coming weekend. Not sure if I can make it though I was hoping to go.
