Wonderful to see so many braving the very cold weather at Gallipoli.

Another very cold day with rain throughout the ANZAC Day Service here in Berlin.
Our Berlin Branch carried the Australian and New Zealand Standards with the Bundeswehr providing the Bugler and wreath squad from the Berlin Wache Battalion.

A female Soloist singer for both hymnsand a good attendace considering the weather.

I have posted the photographs on our RBL Facebook site attached for those interested members.

I had a great time in Australia when I was there, made friends I'm still in touch with. It's a great place with great people. Happy Anzac Day, mates.

ANZAC Day 2018 Memorial Service of Remembrance at CWGC Cemetery on Heerstrasse
    Berlin.
Despite a poor weather forecast the sun shone on the righteous and the service was very well attended.
see attached Facebook link from our RBL Branch photographs that I took.
The forecast storm and very heavy rain followed a couple of hours later.

Today was spent at Westminster Abbey for the Australian High Commission's ANZAC service - Prince Harry & his fiance' were there and Prince William also attended. He wasn't listed as being a participant but must have taken the few hours off from being at the hospital and decided to come along anyway.

Sad to see that the coronavirus has prevented any Anzac Day parades and public commemorations this year. However, I'm sure that we will all still remember those that have died serving Australia and New Zealand in the many conflicts across the years. :poppy:

This year we were asked to #lightupthedawn from own driveways, balconies or gardens and it has been embraced with gusto.

It was certainly a very different Anzac Day Service for me - but the warbling South Australian magpies, who joined in the playing of the Last Post and the reading of The Ode and the spectacular sunrise, was a wonderful way to pay my respects from the driveway, along with some of the neighbours in my street.

Let's remember the others too: the RN, the 29th Division, the French and their African troops at Kum Kale, and the Turks defending their country. Remember them all.
