I am looking to purchase this possible USAAF flight helmet, but was hoping someone could help me to properly identify it and possibly put some of my concerns to rest, I asked the seller if it had a manufacturer and date stamp inside, I didn't receive any photos but was told there is a tag that says "Gentex NY General Textile Mills" upon doing some research I found that during WW2 General Textile Mills worked closely with the United States Armed Forces as a manufacturer. I am no expert in this field so thats about as far as I got in terms of possibly identifying it, I know things like this are commonly faked so I was hoping someone could help me identified exactly what it is and if it’s real before I make the purchase.
