Welcome to the forum, Bernard. Hopefully, you will share some of your memories of the war years. I look forward to reading them.

    A wonderful introduction...

An important factor in researching a subject is going back over things to make sure that what you found in the first place is what you found in the first place and not a half incorrectly remembered fact...

I have been posting here for a while now but still spend the time to come back and re-read things, somewhat like a favourite book, and often find new links to things when I look elsewhere...

Remembering to thank those that help you is also a big part of being here too, so do remember that...

Any veteran, if you are lucky enough to find one willing to talk, is quite simply, a National Treasure, and should be treated with the utmost respect - listen to them, learn from them, read their words, remember them, pass-on their information... as we are only the vessels of transferance... failure to do so would be a sin... failure to offer respect, doubly so...

I am a new member whose father flew out of an airbase near Framlingham with the 8th Air Force, 390th Bombardment Group, 571st Bombardment Squadron. An uncle flew B-24s with the 8th Air Force's 392nd Bomb Group. My uncles and cousins, my extended family, served in nearly all theaters of the war.

I am interested in all aspects of World War II.

    I publish "Wayne's Journal" at http://waynes-journal.com/about/.
