Still here, but writing less often.......

Morning all !

Thought I'd better pen a few words, if only to show that I am still here in the land of the living

I visit the forum on a daily basis but have ,to date anyway, not found any subject to which I felt I could offer any ww2 experience.

I still keep house for myself (with much appreciated help from my family) and by dint of daily exercises manage to keep myself reasonably mobile. I get out of the house at least six days a week and keep a pretty full diary.

While I think of it, I must offer a plug for both Alexa and Google android.
The opportunities they both offer to respond to ANY question seem limitless and I bask in the info, or simply music. that I can call up at anytime. If you have an aged relative that lives on their own I can't recommend "talk-backs" too much.

Sending all my best regards to all the good friends I have made on the forum over the years but warning you all that Big Brother is still watching.......

Thought the absence of messages was due to you having a very lengthy holiday on some sun drenched beach surrounded by your harem of female admirers - ah well thats that dream gone, unless they are all called Alexa of course

Glad to hear you are well and any tips on ironing clothes you may have will be well worth taking, by the way how did you used to keep clean & tidy on/in a tank

A while ago I posted some images of a Stuart Recce with a sort of canopy on top. I was wondering if you ever saw those and if they matched your memory of your vehicle in Italy?

I was thinking about your absence from the forum....comes under AWOL you know and an entry will be in your records.

Overall,pleased to see that you are well....God's greatest gift is that we continue to enjoy life and are able to communicate effectively both by speech and the written word,the latter on platforms such as this.

Some are lucky,others not so.

Hadn't forgotten you, just tracing your/my original posting about Honey canopies which was here:

"My Stuart Honey Tank... as I remember it 65 years later"

To reiterate, it appears there were many different types of canopies, all of them completely hopeless in keeping out enemy fire of any sort !

At the risk of being accused of adverting I felt I must give yet another plug for Amazon's Echo Dot.

A couple of years ago I bought my first Echo dot for £39 and installed it in my kitchen. I was fascinated by it's ability to supply info on virtually every subject under the sun and, let's face it, the mere fact that it was another voice in the house.

As the years have gone by I had got fed up with having to disconnect it if I wanted to use it in another room and so I bought another unit to give me the same facilities in my kitchen as opposed to the lounge. Last year I stuck one in my bedroom, very handy for someone who can wake several times in the night and finally I now have one in my study next to my PC (Current price, I notice, £49)

I recommend you go to Amazon UK and learn more about this super facility
