The attached photo of a Sunderland on a beaching trolley was taken after the Japanese surrender either at Rangoon or Hong Kong. Any ideas as to which?
It would be difficult for this photo to be Hong Kong, as virtually everywhere has a range of hills in the background. One recent newspaper story on reintroducing seaplanes indicates seaplanes flew into Kai Tak and Wiki refers to a seaplane base there after 1925: RAF Kai Tak - Wikipedia and the larger Wiki on the international airport describes the surroundings: Kai Tak Airport - Wikipedia This also has a number of photos showing the hills around and the map indicates plus my memory every angle would have hills in the background. Google Images show a seaplane landing in Kowloon Bay. Not been there for a very long time.
