Not long after I met the future Mrs Tolbooth she got a temp job with Birmingham Council on the program setup to cope with the aftermath of the Great Sparkbrook tornado of 2005. It wasn't till much later she told me the program's official title and wondered why I nearly had apoplexy laughing. Because, yes folks, my wife worked on Birmingham Councils T4 program
Grandson (7) asked me why this was called ‘cookie’ earlier: I told him it was ‘caulk’, but I could clearly see his point and thought one for this thread. He’s taking an emptied tube to school later this week to demonstrate a ‘barbecue roll’ - they’re learning about moon missions. I expect when he explains about ‘passive thermal control’ his teacher’s jaw will drop a bit ……
