Hi I am seeing if anyone has any details of the 12 RTR especially around 6/5/1943.

My grandad in law was Trooper Alfred Caldwell 3392204. It looks like he was injured on that date.

I can't find the unit history on this site. Thanks

I don’t have a great deal of information, the 12th R.T.R., as I am sure you know, we're in Tunisia, Liddell Hart’s The Tanks: The History of the Royal Tank Regiment, Vol. 2, states:

As I understand things, the Tank Museum (Bovington) have transcribed war diaries of R.T.R. Units available for researchers. You should try contacting them.

I hope you get better responses, which are more in depth.

Thanks. Think I will be sending off for his records, I just used find my past and found a injured A Caldwell in the tank regiment. Considering he was in tanks and deffo was in North Africa and got quite injured whilst over there I imagine its him
