After several weeks waiting, managed to get a copy by ILL, but not found one for sale yet.

Excellent book, fascinationg stories and the extra good news is I've found a photo of Father-in-Law in the book!

Does anyone know anyone mentioned in the book?

If it is not in the county, it is five quid here now. And took 6 weeks to arrive. Last time I ILL'd it was 90 pence.

I stopped going into oxfam when they made it a waterstone's look alike (really - cloned the shelfs and interior design) and applied silly internet prices on book they got for free. Lucky bargain you got there.

My father was in C company (and the B Coy)12th Yorkshire Btn. Ernest (Butch) Butchers reg no 7455413. Raymond was his best mate and when I was born my father wanted to name me after him. Raymond was known as "Sammy" and my mother refused to have me called Sammy so I became Michael Sutton Butchers. In recent years finding more info I informed dad that Sammys real name was Raymond he never knew. Dad is still alive and living in Wilton Wiltshire but sadley has lost his sight and unable to see all the great information ther is on his old unit.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but these may be of use to someone with an interest in this unit. They came from Ancestry regarding a former DLI/Green Howards/Para .My curiosity satisfied hopefully they are of interest to others?

That's all folks! Sorry about the pinkness, Kodak all-in-one Printers (I have 2) seem to have a color balance scanning problem.
There are about a dozen more pages from the final edition of 'Bash On', the battalion newsletter, will post later.
