    AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS.
    2nd Lt. (A./Maj.) William Revell Smith, R.F.A.
    For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in maintaining the fire of his battery under heavy enemy shell fire from 12 till 5.30 a.m. When a light railway train bringing ammunition was derailed in a conspicuous position, and could not be moved, and a sergeant and two men were killed while off loading the ammunition he contrived to have it well camouflaged before daybreak, and so saved the train and its contents.
