    Hi All

Hope this is in the right section if not I do apologies

I have been in email with Gerhard Bracke who is related to Oblt Lenz Finster, Gerhard is trying to find as much information as possible on the men who were flying the Baufighter that shot Lenz Finster down on 23/4 Dec 1943

The information we have so far is:-

    Oblt Lenz Finster was killed 23/24 Dec '43 at Unteresbach 15Km SE of Cologne by 141 Sqd Baufighter (F/Lt H C Kelsey & P/O E M Smith)

This was 100 Group's first "kill", though 141 Squadron had been taking A.I.-equipped Beaus over Europe since the middle of 1943. I believe the aircraft were equipped with Serrate in addition to radar, and were there to combat LW nightfighters.

Any information on the above greatly received

    Cheers
    Dom
