    Hi Dave.
Have you nothing more than that medal? Any information, or paybook? anything any tip or memory? The RE have so many branches that it is damn near impossible to place them. The branches are so numerous Post office. railways. docks UXB. Field Cos Field park Cos. bridging! The list is endless..... Assault Companies. Or like mine that operate in the active areas.

The fact that he went to palestine points to one thingm as my old Company having spent their time in action from sword Beach to Bremen, then after the war were sent to palestine, so there is a clue there. For the troops sent to the esat were not that numerous...Send me everything you have, and I will attempt a search for you through my war time documents.

    Hi Sapper,
I don't have anyother information on F Thomas. I picked the medal up from ebay so he his no relation to my family at all. I know what you mean with regard to research made difficult with no other information to go on. Looks like its a brickwall I have now. I will see if I can find anything else out, you never know something might come up trumps.

    Thanks for replying anyway.

    Dave
