Wellington Mk1 Serial P-9273 took off from RAF Mildenhall at 10.22pm on 9th October 1940 (79 years ago today) to bomb a target in Germany. It was never seen again and the crew have no known graves. Does anyone have any further information please. Many thanks.

Checked Chorley Bomber Command Losses 1939-1940 2nd edition and nothing much to add to what's already posted. Loss appears on page 219 as lost without a trace. Two small bits of further info: aircraft code was OJ-V and according to Chorley: "This was the first Bomber Command Wellington crew to lose their lives without a regular officer or NCO included in their number".
