Philip, I'm sure Mr. P. will be delighted - all members identified and no labeling necessary ... Just the way I like 'em!!
Browning Barracks if I'm not mistaken, I ran passed there 6 times a day when I was at the APTS. Just had a quick look on google to see where it is in relation to the PT school and the barracks where I was and..... Is Aldershot Garrison being redeveloped? The Sports Centre looks like a building site and the Dakota appears to have gone.
CWGC :: Casualty Details First man killed in the 151 Parachut Battalion, "Roman candle" The following day Lt John Hynes was also killed in a parachute accident and all jumping at Delhi was cancelled. They then moved to Rawalpindi where Ron Adams told of him and some Sergeants having to do a "confidence" jump for some Gurkhas who were refusing to jump as they believed the chutes had been sabotaged. He had been in the same stick as Lt Hynes and had been at the airfield when Paddy Mills had been killed on the 5th. John
Philip With so much information about the Battalion available what a pity it is that you didn't get together with John O'Reilly and cooperate with him in his publication "From Delhi to Arnhem". Already perhaps one of the best books recently published about Arnhem the additional photos could have been a great enhancement.
I didn't have enough time by then, to copy all my material about the battalion and send it all to him
Have scanned some 600 arnhem related photographs now ( mostly group/portret) of various units, going for the other albums this weekend.

Have scanned some 600 arnhem related photographs now ( mostly group/portret) of various units, going for the other albums this weekend. Have you ever thought of publishing a book just of photographs? A kind of "family album" if you like of the 1st Airborne Division! All the best mate and keep up the good work!
