I wonder if anyone has the 1944 war diary for the 159th H.A.A. Battery, R.A. and would mind sharing it please? It is WO 172/4704.

I have "lost" the Battery for the period after it left Ceylon in August 1944 until it appears at Palel in December 1944. During this period it seems to have acted as an independent battery, assigned as Army Troops, 14th Army and may have operated in the 11th East African Infantry Division area - hence appearing at Palel. The diary WO 172/4704 covers this period.

The 52nd H.A.A. Regiment, with its two remaining batteries, left Ceylon on 23rd November 1944 and arrived at Calcutta on 1st December 1944. It then went to Chittagong from where it went to Manipur Road by rail, arriving 17th December 1944.
