    I'll try and do a few more for the 1st bn in Italy then.


    Major Hacket-Pain's wife Patricia was a sister of the officer commanding 1st Bn IG in Italy. Andrew Montagu-Douglas Scott was a Lieutenant in 4 Coy when the battalion was in Norway. Claud Andrew Montagu Douglas Scott - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Her second husband was killed while commanding 1st Bn SG and is buried at Beach Head Anzio.

    Terribly sad for poor Patricia. Col Wedderburn was killed at Smelly Farm when an artillery shell landed in a tree and shredded his Orders Group.

    Losing two husbands is bad luck.
