Here's a site dedicated to the WW2 era radio that I inherited from my grandfather. He shipped it back home to his parents from somewhere in the Pacific (I still have the crate it was shipped in, complete with the routing address through Midway). I have no idea where or when he bought it exactly, only that it is a 1942 Zenith and perhaps one of the last comsumer models of this type made before the company went into war production. It has both AM and shortwave reception capabilities, and was used in their house during my dad's childhood.

If you have any knowledge of this type of radio, I'd love to hear about it! FWIW, that site hasn't been updated in a while.
