    Only thing I can find on this guy is :-
    Private Puttick's body was never found, but was probably burnt. They was some evidence that he had been held by Kommando Wenger at Etival but was taken away by someone from Gruppe Kieffer in a car in which were placed a number of cans of petrol.
    On Dec 6th 1944, the French discovered a number of badly burnt bodies under the charred remains of the Barodot forest house.
    The local doctor couldn't tell if they were shot first or burned alive.

    Birnie was on Operation Pistol in 1944. he was captured and imprisoned but was reportedly killed by the RAF during a raid. I have his Red Cross report on his death.
