One American served with the 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem and several South Africans were also there.

"One American served with the 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem” - Surely Lieutenants Bruce E Davis and J E Bice were also at Arnhem with the 1st Airborne Division

Not strictly 1st Airborne Div, but worth mentioning Richard Tice, an American who served with the Polish Parachute Brigade. He is the only American buried in the Airborne Cemetery. Fascinating story - after being discharged from the US Army due to a medical issue he hitchhiked to Canada to join the Poles and learned the language from scratch.

There were a few americans in a signals detachment.
I believe some of the officers were Lt Geddes and Lt Davis of 306th Fighter Control Squadron
There were a couple of articles in the MVT magazine.
    Corporal Dale Thatcher
