    656th Observation Squadron
Did no think it worth starting a new thread. So, I thought I would ask the question here.

I am wading through 44RM Commando's war diary in Burma and noted that they took 5 members of 55 Observation Squadron (I think this is wrong and the author should have cited 656th) with them in addition to an RA artillery spotter. As the Commandos moved from post to post, 55th Obs Squadron were said to have left behind time-delayed decoy devises which lead the Japs to bomb the vacated position.

Any ideas on what these devices might be?
