1st P.C.L.H. on Cyprus in August 1942?

I have just been reading in Birdwood's The Sikh Regiment history about the 2/11th Sikh Regiment's arrival on Cyprus. It states for August 28th, 1942, "Next day, transport was taken over, with other stores, from the 1 P.C.L.H. The transport consisted of 4 8-cwt. vans, 37 15-cwt. trucks, 9 3-ton lorries, 26 carriers, 6 quads, 39 motor-cycles and a station wagon". What is the PCLH?

This was during the move of the 10th Indian Division to Cyprus. They relieved the 7th Indian Brigade (1st Royal Sussex Regiment, 4/16th Punjab Regiment, 1/2nd Gurkha Rifles and 31st Field Regiment) as well as the 1st Household Cavalry Regiment.

Is this just a mistake in the Sikh history and is the 1 P.C.L.H. actually the 1st Household Cavalry Regiment, which left on August 27th? The 1st Household Cavalry Regiment definitely left their equipment, which included at one point: 24 M/C, 48 Carriers, 63 15-CWT trucks and 30-CWT trucks, plus about 23 other trucks and cars. Before it left it also took on about 40 Marmon-Herrington III Armoured Cars.

Does anyone have the 1st Household Cavalry Regiment history to confirm this?

(P.C.)L.H. immediately makes me think 'Light Horse', but scanning the lists brings up no obvious contender for the first two letters.

War Diary would be handy, as ever.

Same problem. I have a list of all units in Cyprus at that time and the 1st Household Cavalry Regiment is the only one that fits based on equipment.

I don't have a copy to hand (travelling), bit I think there's a list of forces available for the defence of Cyprus in the appendices for Tuker's 1942 report—might be worth a glance to see whether anything unexpected it there.

Think I linked or uploaded it on a thread somewhere.

Edit: Have a look through what I uploaded/linked here, perhaps (suspect you are working with same files):

The 7th Indian Brigade war diary has some good lists for the period.

With thanks to 'Charley Fortnum', here is an extract from the 7th Indian Brigade War Diary for 8 April 1942 for an order of battle for forces on Cyprus. This order of battle did not change much through August 1942.

As can be seen, the most likely candidate for "1 P.C.L.H." appears to be 1st Household Cavalry. The other cavalry unit, the Yorkshire Hussars, did not leave Cyprus until January 1943 and was equipped with Crusader and Valentine tanks.
