  3. I believe I have a photo of Reginald Ashard, who was I think, my grandfather's brother. My grandfather was Private Arthur Isaac Ashard, my father was Arthur Ashard. I will try to post the pic for you. I got this from my auntie, Ruth (known as Ruby) Ashard. I remember her speaking of Reg as her favourite uncle.

  5. also, I have a photo of his brother (my grandfather) if you would like to see it... I also have his commemorative scroll for serving King and Country. I got these from his daughter (my aunt)... Ruth (Ruby) Ashard who sadly died in 2015.

    One of the names mentioned in a earlier post was Priv Dick. I think this is the name of a person who served with my grandfather in the 2nd Battalion

    Hi new member trying to find out a little about my grandfather's time in the SLI in India we know he was cqms in 1942 his name was Thomas charles phillips would love to know more about his rank / duties and were he would have been in India

    To answer your question you really need to obtain your relatives service records and they can only be obtained from the MOD - the forms you need are here - Request records of deceased service personnel you will also need a copy of his death certificate, if you cant find the details we can help but would need full name when & where he died
