2 R. Innisk Fus Memorial, Garigliano River Crossing

    For info of members, the attached shows the above memorial, erected by the battalion following it's action Jan. 1944.
    The vet who gave me the copy some time ago stated that it had been removed during some construction work and it's location now is unknown, - more the pity! I cann't recall as to if it was erected on the Minturno ridge, succesfully taken by 13 Bge's 2 Wilts, and the Skins, or close to river crossing point or at the jumping off point for the final assault on the ridge.
    It's such a shame memorials are discarded by many whilst 'work is in progress', notably those from buildings being demolished.
